You attach files to products. When an order with one of those products is paid, the buyer gets a download link by email. The same link appears on the thank you page and on the order status page. Links expire and have a download limit, both under your control.
No theme code changes are needed. To show the download block at checkout: open Settings, then Checkout, then Customize. In the Apps sidebar add the order-downloads block to the Thank you page and to the Order status page, then save. The email works without this step.
The link opens a page listing each file with its size, the expiry date, and downloads remaining. The page works on any device and the buyer can use it again until it expires.
Open Settings to change the defaults. Expiry is counted in days from the order. The download limit applies per file per order. Changes apply to new orders. Existing links keep the terms they were issued with, and you can extend any existing link from the Deliveries page.
Open Deliveries to see every order the app has handled. From there you can re-send the delivery email, extend the link, or copy the link into a support reply of your own.
Files are stored privately. Buyers never get a direct file URL. Each download goes through a short-lived signed URL tied to the order's token, so a forwarded or posted link stops working shortly after it is used.
Uninstall from your store's admin like any app. Shopify notifies us 48 hours later and all of your shop's records and stored files are deleted. Buyer download links stop working at that point. Export anything you need before uninstalling.
The app processes the minimum data needed to deliver files: the buyer's email, the order id and line items, and your shop domain. Details in the privacy policy.
